I grew up in Connecticut. In my twenties, I moved to San Francisco where I lived for twenty years until I moved to Asheville, North Carolina, located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. I attended Boston University and graduated from the California Institute of Integral Studies. I have a studio at Riverview Station in The River Arts District, where there are over two-hundred artists in old brick buildings along the French Broad River.
Twelve years ago, I left my career as a computer consultant. After years of doing analysis and programming, which utilized the left brain, I wanted to check out my long-neglected right brain. I knew it was time because when I walked, my head tilted to the left and I had this passion to move to the UK, where the driver’s seat was on the left. I even started to ask people to call me lefty. Lefty Marino, it had a nice ring to it.
